FOTD: earth tone eyes

Hi Everyone!
Two days ago I broke out my new, Sweet & Punchy eyeshadow from MAC's To The Beach Collection (TTBC). I must say, I love this color! It is fun, vibrant, and different from my mostly brown eyeshadow collection. I did use browns on the outer corner and crease to tone down the look a bit....

Here's what I used for the eyes:

  • MAC Painterly paint pot
  • MAC Sweet & Punchy TTBC eyeshadow
  • Bobbi Brown Copper Sand shimmer wash eyeshadow
  • BB Copper Cocoa shimmer wash eyeshadow
  • BB Walnut creamy eye pencil
  • MAC Float On By TTBC eye khol

Hope you like this different look for the eyes. This is definitely not something I would wear everyday, but it is a fun look to spruce up a plain outfit.

What's something new you are trying?

FOTD and Mascara Love!

Hi Everyone!
It's a humid Saturday here! Hope you are all enjoying the weather and using sunscreen!

Notice the extra baby curls and frizz? That's the humidity talking.. haha! *Also note, this is after wearing my makeup for 6 hours and going for a walk in the crazy heat!* Anyway, here's my face of the day! I am wearing:

Murad Oil Control Mattifer with SPF 15, Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 in Warm Radiance (Sephora 100 point perk), MUFE HD Powder, Bobbi Brown Corrector and Concealer, BB long-wear cream shadow in Moonstone, BB creamy eye pencil in Caviar, NARS Laguna Bronzer, MAC msf in Smooth Merge, BB powder blush in Slopes, Dior Extase Mascara for length and MAC Opulash for thickening! (I also used NARS lipgloss in Chihuahua, but I didn't but it back on before taking this picture)

I'm just going to say I loved the end result on this look!  I thought it had the right amount of sparkle, great blush color, and I looked like I was wearing false lashes! Just look at this close up of my eyes:
I mean, WOWZA!!! I loved the way these two mascaras worked together!

Also, you probably can't see the Moonstone color very well because I had to use my computer to take the picture since my camera is dead. I am loving Bobbi's new summer beach club collection! You should check it out!

What are you currently wearing? Anyone using two mascaras to thicken and lengthen like I am? Have you tried Opulash or Bobbi's Beach Club yet?

Sephora by OPI-Gold Nails

Last week when I went to the mall with my mom, I picked up a few things from Sephora. I have been using OPI a lot, and figured why not give the Sephora by OPI a chance. So I picked up two golds, one is a metallic called "Charge It!" and the other is a glitter called "Only Gold For Me"

This picture doesn't do them justice... They look really nice in person! I used two coats of Charge It and topped it off with about 3 coats of Only Gold For Me. I did place the glitter in some places that I missed, but overall I think the finished look came out great. Check it out:

(ps-both pictures were taken with a flash)

I think this are going to be hot for summer! What are you summer nail polish pairings?

Find of the Century!

So like I mentioned in my last post, my mom and I went shopping on Saturday. I got quite a lot of things, but I returned a pretty expensive item and just bought makeup with it. Anyway, my find of the century items.....

dun dun dun....

Triple Fusion and Smooth Merge

YES! MAC's MSF's from last summer! I didn't start using MAC until two months ago, but once I read about these products online, I had to have them! I wanted smooth merge, triple fusion, hand finish, and petticoat! (in order of highest want! haha) Basically, I was looking at MAC's To The Beach collection at the counter, left to find my mom, walked back over and there, in the middle of the collection sat Smooth Merge! OMG! I asked the makeup artist if they had anymore in stock! She said yes and they also had Triple Fusion (I did ask about the other two, but they didn't have anymore)! WOW! These things are going for around $40 on ebay and I just couldn't see myself paying that much for something.... Anyway, I bought the last Triple Fusion and I think there are a few Smooth Merge MSF's left. This was the one limited edition collection I thought I would never get! : )

And according to Temptalia's website, petticoat will be out later this summer!!!! wahooo!!!

I'll post about the rest of my stuff later! But enjoy the MSF's for now!!!

What's the one limited edition item you missed out on and are still craving??

Going Shoppin'

My mom and I are going to our favorite mall this afternoon! I'm hoping to pick up a few things and keep the word budget in the back of my head. Good thing I am returning a few things so I can exchange without spending.....

I'll let you know what I pick up later! I'm really craving some MAC, Bobbi Brown, and NARS... who would've guessed? haha

: )

May Favorites... a little late!

Hi Everyone!
So I took a picture of my May favorites, but forgot to put one thing in the picture! It is the MAC Paint Pot in Painterly. I use this under most of my eyeshadows as a base or primer. It keeps the shadow on allllllll dayyyyy longggg and does not crease! Sometimes I use it alone with just a simple sweep of eyeliner and it looks very classic and pretty.

From the picture (L-R):

  1. OPI Nail Envy in Matte--just a nice base coat and strengthener I've been using a lot
  2. Bobbi Brown perfume in Beach--ahhhhh I LOVE spraying this in a room and wearing it!
  3. Bobbi Brown pot rouge in Pink Raspberry--I know it's discontinued but I love this color!
  4. NAR Sheer Matte foundation (color is ceylan)-This is my go-to foundation! I am loving the formula and the way it looks on my skin!
  5. NARS bronzer in Laguna--so pretty and so summery, need I say more?
  6. Philosophy's Hope in a Jar--best moisturizer ever! I love the whipped formula and it works great, even on my combination skin!
  7. Dior's Diorshow Extase mascara--I got this super sample from sephora online. I had no idea what I was about to get because this puts your lashes on steroids haha
  8. MUFE High Definition Powder--omg! This stuff is great to keep your face matte all day and feels sooooo smooth! It doesn't change the color of your foundation either.
  9. iSkin Pore Perfecting Face Bruch--similar to clarisonic's brush, but the bristles do not move-they vibrate. Still it's a good dupe for those (like me) who are on a budget. This is $30 at Sally's and beats paying $200 for the real thing.
What are your May favorites?

Makeup Cravings

Hi Everyone! Sorry it's been a while since I've posted. I have had a hard time coming up with blog ideas... if you have any, let me know!

For this post, I'm going to let you know my current makeup cravings (wish list) for early summer!

  1. Bobbi Brown Beach Club Collection--I am a true Bobbi addict! I am going to decide which shades I really want when I go to the counter, but I'm definitely wanting the shimmer brick. As for the cream shadows, I don't think I need the nude color since I have the painterly paint pot by MAC. I am thinking the Moonstone (green) and the Pink Oyster for sure. I will let you know when I finally make it to the mall!
  2. NARS lipstick in Dolce Vita, Love Devotion, and Roman Holiday
  3. NARS lipgloss in Chihuahua and Turkish Delight
  4. MAC lipstick in Hue, Myth, Creme Cup, Creme D'Nude, and Angel
  5. NARS nail polish in Orgasm and Purple Rain
  6. MAC paint pot in Bare Study
  7. MAC 239, 168, 130, and 188 brushes
  8. Murad Oil-Control Mattifier SPF 15
  9. Benefit blushes in Dandelion and Sugarbomb
  10. Benefit ultra shine in Foxy Lady and lipgloss in Who Are You Wearing
And that is actually like 100 things I want... When I do get something new, I'll be sure to let you know! : )

What are your beauty cravings?

Bronzed Summer Look

Hi Everyone! Yesterday I decided to do another simple summer bronzed eye look. This look was quite easy and something I could wear everyday of summer if I needed to. I started off with the same usually cleanse, moisturize, primer, foundation, corrector, concealer, etc etc face I do for most of my looks. For my eyes, I used MAC's rubenesque paint pot as the base. Then I layered the gold part of MAC's odd couple on top of the base. This made a nice  shimmery bronzed eye. For liner, I used Bobbi Brown's creamy eye pencil in walnut (from the 10 pan challenge, if you remember how bad I failed at that one...). Then I did the double coating of mascara's using Bobbi Brown Extreme Party Mascara and Dior's Diorshow Extase on top. For the cheeks, I used NARS laguna bronzer (I am LOVING this stuff!), Bobbi Brown's shimmer brick in Apricot for a highlight and then Bobbi Brown's pot rouge in powder pink with a pop of Bobbi Brown's pale pink on top. Layering helps for the bronze-y pink look! I really might just wear this look for every day... or maybe not... haha : )

What looks are you liking for this summer?

Purple Eyes

Hey Everyone! I did a fun purple eye look the other day and received some good feedback from others! You can see the pictures above. Here's how I did the look:

Step-by-step

  1. Cleanse and moisturize face (and eyes!)
  2. Apply a primer to the face after the moisturizer has soaked in
  3. Use under eye corrector (if needed) and concealer
  4. Apply foundation after the primer has soaked in
  5. Once the foundation has set in a bit, apply a setting powder--I used the MUFE HD powder
  6. Prime the eyes with MAC's painterly paint pot
  7. On the inner corner of the eyes, use the gold part of MAC's mineralized eye shadow duo in Odd Couple
  8. For the outer corners, use the purple part of MAC's Odd Couple mineralized eye shadow duo
  9. Line the eyes with MAC's Pearl Glide Intense Eye Liner in Designer Purple (a fav!)
  10. Use the MAC 266 angled eye liner brush to make a very thin line between the eyelashes and the purple liner. I used Bobbi Brown's Caviar eye shadow for this step. (This will really make your lashes pop!)
  11. Then repeat steps 9 and 10 for the bottom lashes, but use a light hand and only line the outer half of your eye
  12. Next, apply a lengthening mascara and top it off with a thickening mascara. I applied the thickening to the bottom lashes too.
  13. Add some bronzer--I used NARS laguna!
  14. Put a pop of pink blush on the apples of your cheeks--I used Bobbi Brown Pale Pink
  15. Don't forget your lipstick and gloss--I used MAC Viva Gaga lipstick and Bobbi Brown blossom tint
This is an easy way to add subtle color into an everyday wearable look!

Let me know if you have questions or would like to see another how to! What are you wanting to see? Any product reviews you're looking for?

Have a great purple evening!

Shimmering Brown Eyes--Today's Look

Hi Everyone!
Here's my basic shimmering brown eyes. I use a ton of brown shadows because they look best with my blue eyes.

Products I used-Face:
Bobbi Brown-Creamy Face Wash
Bobbi Brown-Soothing Face Tonic
Philosophy-Hope in a Jar
Bobbi Brown-Hydrating Eye Cream
NARS-Sheer Matte Foundation in Ceylan
Bobbi Brown-Corrector in Light Bisque
Makeup Forever-Lifting Concealer
Makeup Forever-HD Finishing Powder
NARS-Laguna Bronzer
Bobbi Brown-Pot Rouge in Pink Raspberry
Bobbi Brown-Blush in Pale Pink

Products I used-Eyes:
All over: MAC-Paint Pot in Painterly
Inside Corner: Bobbi Brown Shimmer Wash Eye Shadow in Champagne
Outside Corner: Bobbi Brown Shimmer Wash Eye Shadow in Copper Sand
Crease: Bobbi Brown Shimmer Wash Eye Shadow in Copper Cocoa
Middle: Bobbi Brown Shimmer Wash Eye Shadow in Seashell
Liner 1: Bobbi Brown Long Wear Gel Eyeliner in Caviar
Liner 2: Bobbi Brown Eye Shadow in Caviar (smoothes edges of the gel liner)
Mascara 1: Diorshow Extase (lengthens)
Mascara 2: Bobbi Brown Extreme Party (thickens)

Products I used-Lips:
NARS-Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Bettina
MAC-Viva Glam Lipstick in Viva Gaga
Bobbi Brown-Lip Tint SPF 15 in Blossom

My eyes up
close on the right... The eye liner almost makes the lashes look like false ones. The Diorshow mascara is really lengthening and makes my eyelashes reach my eyebrows lol. I will post a review on that mascara later on...

Brushes I used:
Bobbi Brown Bronzer-for the HD powder
Bobbi Brown Ultra Fine Eye Liner-gel liner
MAC 266-powder liner
Bobbi Brown Eye Smudge-crease color
Bobbi Brown Face Blender-bronzer, cream & powder blush

This is a nice summer look, but I usually do brown eyes for an everyday look. For a more daytime look, I would use a pencil liner. I think this is great for summer nights! Be on the lookout for more "Today's Look" posts.

Let me know if there is a look you are wanting to see! : )

SHREK nail polish!!!

Hi Everyone!
Yesterday I went in search of the Shrek-Tacular Minis set by OPI. The stores in my town were sold out, so I went to a bigger town to get them. Oh boy am I loving this set! The mini set includes: Who the Shrek Are You? (green), Rumple's Wigin' (lilac and personal fav), Fiercely Fiona (pale yellow), and What's with the Cattitude? (carolina blue and another fav). I also picked up a full size of the Funky Dunkey. I decided to skip out on the Ogre-The-Top Blue because I just wasn't sure when I would wear a blue like that...

(don't laugh at my painting abilities!)

After testing out the mini set, I am probably going to get the full size versions of the green, carolina blue, and lilac... I'm not big on yellow nails.

Is anyone else in love with this set? What other nail colors do you love?

Hi Everyone!
So I wanted to do a post on the things I am currently in love with in regards to beauty products! Here's my current list (enjoy!):

Nails:

MAC:

Bobbi Brown:
Blushes:
  • Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge in Pink Raspberry--I think this *might* be discontinued too, but I love wearing this color! It is bright and nice for the summer flushed look.
  • NARS Multiple in Orgasm--bright and shimmer, also nice for summer. I haven't used this very long, but I do love it so far!
  • NARS blush in Deep Throat--more of a peach color than the Orgasm, but this is the powder kind, so I've been wearing it over the multiple and also loving it thus far.

Lip Stuff:
Scents:

Alright, those are the current loves and products I am using a lot! Let me know if you have questions or want a specific review of a product! : )

updates...

Hi Everyone! so first off, I will try to get better at blogging... it's been busy and I've been lazy...

10 Pan Challenge Update: I suck. End of story. Okay, but really I obviously cannot complete this challenge without buying other things. I will say that it has made me more conscious of my buying and my using of products. I am finishing my concealer set from Bobbi Brown before I use another concealer. (I did buy Benefit's Erase Paste--I tried it. I hated it. It's going back. Maybe the color is wrong, but I just didn't like it. I'm going to try one of MAC's next.) I switched my foundation sticks because the #2 was starting to be too light due to my hours of working out outside. I am now using up my #2.5 :)

New Products: Sephora had this thing the other day if you bought something, you got a free Dior mascara -- Diorshow Extase. I'm a sucker because there were a few products I had been wanting to try that were limited edition and "at sephora only." So here's what I picked up besides the Dior mascara... Enjoy the process of opening my box:

Free Samples: Too Faced-Shadow Insurance, Lorac-Behind the Scenes Eye Primer, & Boscia-Willow Bark Treatment

For some reason, I was given two extra samples..not going to complain. They are: Smashbox-Photo Finish Light Foundation Primer & DDF-Biomolecular Firming Eye Serum

The Contents: Nars So Famous set & Benefit To Go Beauty Bestsellers set
Diorshow Extase Mascara
NARS so famous (my first Nars products)
Set includes: Deep Throat Blush
Bettina - velvet matte lip pencil (this is the one thing I thought I wouldn't like, but it is SO pretty in person)
The Multiple in Orgasm (yeah, the name is over the top, but this is the cult following blush... this is the whole reason I wanted to try the set--it's a cream blush)
Benefit To Go Beauty Bestsellers
Set Includes: Some Kinda Gorgegous, That Gal, High Beam, and Posie Tint. Set is only $10, products are SMALL, but worth 10 bucks... plus, I can't get this anywhere else...

That is my first Sephora online shopping experience... I must say, it went great! I just need more patience for waiting on my package to arrive : ) I will let you all know what I think about these products after I try them.

I did mention above, I am taking the Benefit Erase Paste back, and I will probably take the Dr. Feelgood back as well. I am not sure if I am meant to use Dr. Feelgood... it does feel and smell good, but I think it is breaking my face out. I bought this to wear on top of my makeup to keep it matte all day long. I think I bought it with the wrong intentions, because it really didn't keep me matte like I thought it would... I can't keep it just to set in the tin and smell good.

As for my recent MAC purchases.... LOVE IT!!!! I have done purple eyes a couple times and I always get complements : )

Alright... hopefully this has been a good update for the few readers I do have. Please leave comments and suggestions. Let me know if there is anything you need a review on or a how-to you are looking for! : ) Enjoy the weather!

i miss blogging!

Hi Everyone!
Sorry I have been missing from the blog for a while. It feels like 3 weeks... Anyway, update on the computer--I have to send it into Apple for them to fix it since a service provider is farther than an hour away. I am hopefully sending it in today or tomorrow, but I still have to drive 20ish minutes to take it to FedEx to send it in. Blah. Right now I am using my fiance's computer...

Makeup update: I really suck at the 10 Pan Challenge. I never use the lip glosses, but I have been using the eyeliner and foundation almost every single day. I am more conscious of my use and my spending. So even if I do not complete this challenge, at least I came out with that.

However, I have bought something else. : ( I had to order it from MAC's website because all the Belk's within a 100 mile radius that sell MAC were sold out. It is the pearl glide eyeliner in Designer Purple. Yes, I bought purple eyeliner. I'm not in middle school. I promise I am going to do something really pretty with it and it was sooooooo gorgeous in person. And the only reason I decided to go ahead and buy it is because of the limited edition--stores will not be getting anymore of these. Other makeup shopping news: I returned some products that were bothering my skin. I decided to get some other MAC products. Here's what I got: lip pencil in subculture to wear under my viva glam gaga lipstick, the 266 small angled liner brush, and mineralize eyeshadow duo in odd couple. The eyeshadow is super cute and will work with the new Designer Purple eyeliner. I cannot wait to show you this look when I get everything in.

Yesterday, I did one of my best friend's makeup for her baby shower. I used Bobbi Brown's nude palette, plus some creamy eyeshadows to really make her eyes pop. I will do a full blog post on this when I upload my pictures. She looked so beautiful yesterday!!!!

Let me know about your makeup or if you have any questions. I love makeup and talking about makeup.

broken computer

Hi Everyone!
So I'm a little behind on keeping up with my blog and makeup reviews and what not. My computer is acting funky... I'm taking it into the computer store on Thursday. For now, that means no updates because I HATE using this PC laptop.

Update me on your life! Let me know about makeup you are using and what type of reviews you would like to see!

confessional

okay.... i needed retail therapy today.... i cheated on the 10 Pan Challenge.

yeah, i'm definitely addicted. but i didn't want to buy clothes... the only thing that cheered me up today was makeup.

: (

so.... i am going to tweak the original rules... IF i run out of a product i need and use daily, i can replace it--for example, the eye cream. anyway, here's what i bought today: Benefit's Dr. Feel Good and Benefit's Erase Paste (number 2). i will NOT use these products until i finish the challenge. i just couldn't resist today.

please forgive me.

sincerely,

addicted to makeup

10 Pan update~

Hi everyone!
So to update you on the 10 Pan Challenge, I am CRAVING to buy something now. It's all I think about, this eyeliner, that eye cream, this bronzer, etc.... However, I am switching an item of the challenge. First, Mary Catherine was right-the mascara irritated my eyes and I'm going to throw it away. In place of the mascara, I am going to put in Bobbi Brown's Lathering Tube Soap:

My look today was quite springy-beachy. I'm going to go over how I did it, since the video tutorial thing is not yet working...

First, I always start with a freshly washed face. Then I moisturized using Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base. After I let that soak in, I added MAC's prep and prime treatment for pores. I then let that soak. Afterwards I put on my usual Neutragena Dry Touch sunblock and let that soak. A lot of soaking today. And I used my Bobbi Brown Hydrating eye cream and corrector. Moving onto the eyes, I started with Bobbi Brown's long-wear cream shadow in Beach Honey! It really makes me happy-nice golden sparkle! I put a little Bobbi Brown Beige Linen shimmer wash eye shadow over that. Then I used my Bobbi Brown Walnut creamy eye pencil for a liner. I finished my lashes with Bobbi Brown's Extreme Party Mascara. Then I moved back to my face and used Bobbi Brown's foundation stick as my foundation and Bobbi Brown's Bronzing Powder on top. For my blush I used Bobbi Brown's Pink Raspberry pot rouge (cream blush). I went with a nude lip today and used Bobbi Brown's EXTRA soothing balm as a lip moisturizer.

Sorry to sound like a Bobbi Brown advertisement. Like I said before, I only used Bobbi Brown exclusively. I am now trying to spread my wings out into other ventures including MAC and Benefit. Once I used up my 10 Pan Challenge items, I'm going to buy more MAC and Benefit makeup.

Keep me posted if you are doing the 10 Pan Challenge. I encourage you to try it with mostly half-used stuff. It will keep you motivated and you should have no problem reaching your goal! Good Luck everyone! : )

10 Pan Challenge

Hi everyone! I decided to start the 10 Pan Challenge. Basically, this challenges any makeup addict to empty 10 items of their choosing before buying another product. *My one exception is that I am allowing myself to return an item for exchange of another at the store--so I'm not putting new money toward makeup, just "trading" the products out.

My items:

1. Bobbi Brown Hydrating Eye Cream - This item is already low, but I added the second sample the makeup artist gave me and I am counting it as one item.

2. Bobbi Brown Soothing Face Tonic - half used and hardly used.

3. Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base - I LOVE this face cream. This is my second jar of it. Oh and it smells SO GOOD!

4. Bobbi Brown Corrector - goes under concealer, but I just need to use this and get a new concealer.

5. Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick - this is my spring color and I'm ready to wear tinted moisturizer for the summer.

6. Bobbi Brown Creamy Eye Pencil (Walnut) - used to be my fav eyeliner, but now I'm liking the darker colors. This is also my second pencil in this color.

7. Bobbi Brown Everything Mascara - I like it. I love others more. Use it up!

8. Burts Bees Lip Gloss - ehh.

9. C.O. Bigelow Lip Gloss (bath and body works) - I'm not sure why I have this product.

10. Bath and Body Works Creamy Body Wash - I'm liking this, but I'm ready for a new scent.

Yes, I KNOW I have a TON of Bobbi Brown products! I've been a Bobbi Brown fanatic for the past 3 years, but I've decided it's time to expand my horizons. Also, I KNOW most of this stuff is already half-empty, but it's stilling going to be a challenge for me. Seriously, I hardly ever use anything until it's completely empty. I will keep you updating on my progress.
Is anyone interested in joining me with this challenge?

Hi!

Hi! I'm pinkpaisley12! and I'm addicted to make-up and beauty products!

This is my first blog entry, please tell me what you think of my site so far. I will be uploading some youtube videos by the end of the week. Topics include: MAC make-up haul, top favs of the moment, and my first trip to sephora (second, but this is the first time I actually bought something).

My beauty project inspiration comes from being bored with my makeup and looking for something new. I started searching the web and found a lot of tutorials and blogs online, so I set out to create my own. I really decided that I HAD to do this after my trip to the MAC counter. Scott made me look so beautiful. My mom said she had never seen my eyes like that before.
