Makeup Cravings

Hi Everyone! Sorry it's been a while since I've posted. I have had a hard time coming up with blog ideas... if you have any, let me know!

For this post, I'm going to let you know my current makeup cravings (wish list) for early summer!

  1. Bobbi Brown Beach Club Collection--I am a true Bobbi addict! I am going to decide which shades I really want when I go to the counter, but I'm definitely wanting the shimmer brick. As for the cream shadows, I don't think I need the nude color since I have the painterly paint pot by MAC. I am thinking the Moonstone (green) and the Pink Oyster for sure. I will let you know when I finally make it to the mall!
  2. NARS lipstick in Dolce Vita, Love Devotion, and Roman Holiday
  3. NARS lipgloss in Chihuahua and Turkish Delight
  4. MAC lipstick in Hue, Myth, Creme Cup, Creme D'Nude, and Angel
  5. NARS nail polish in Orgasm and Purple Rain
  6. MAC paint pot in Bare Study
  7. MAC 239, 168, 130, and 188 brushes
  8. Murad Oil-Control Mattifier SPF 15
  9. Benefit blushes in Dandelion and Sugarbomb
  10. Benefit ultra shine in Foxy Lady and lipgloss in Who Are You Wearing
And that is actually like 100 things I want... When I do get something new, I'll be sure to let you know! : )

What are your beauty cravings?

Bronzed Summer Look

Hi Everyone! Yesterday I decided to do another simple summer bronzed eye look. This look was quite easy and something I could wear everyday of summer if I needed to. I started off with the same usually cleanse, moisturize, primer, foundation, corrector, concealer, etc etc face I do for most of my looks. For my eyes, I used MAC's rubenesque paint pot as the base. Then I layered the gold part of MAC's odd couple on top of the base. This made a nice  shimmery bronzed eye. For liner, I used Bobbi Brown's creamy eye pencil in walnut (from the 10 pan challenge, if you remember how bad I failed at that one...). Then I did the double coating of mascara's using Bobbi Brown Extreme Party Mascara and Dior's Diorshow Extase on top. For the cheeks, I used NARS laguna bronzer (I am LOVING this stuff!), Bobbi Brown's shimmer brick in Apricot for a highlight and then Bobbi Brown's pot rouge in powder pink with a pop of Bobbi Brown's pale pink on top. Layering helps for the bronze-y pink look! I really might just wear this look for every day... or maybe not... haha : )

What looks are you liking for this summer?

Purple Eyes

Hey Everyone! I did a fun purple eye look the other day and received some good feedback from others! You can see the pictures above. Here's how I did the look:

Step-by-step

  1. Cleanse and moisturize face (and eyes!)
  2. Apply a primer to the face after the moisturizer has soaked in
  3. Use under eye corrector (if needed) and concealer
  4. Apply foundation after the primer has soaked in
  5. Once the foundation has set in a bit, apply a setting powder--I used the MUFE HD powder
  6. Prime the eyes with MAC's painterly paint pot
  7. On the inner corner of the eyes, use the gold part of MAC's mineralized eye shadow duo in Odd Couple
  8. For the outer corners, use the purple part of MAC's Odd Couple mineralized eye shadow duo
  9. Line the eyes with MAC's Pearl Glide Intense Eye Liner in Designer Purple (a fav!)
  10. Use the MAC 266 angled eye liner brush to make a very thin line between the eyelashes and the purple liner. I used Bobbi Brown's Caviar eye shadow for this step. (This will really make your lashes pop!)
  11. Then repeat steps 9 and 10 for the bottom lashes, but use a light hand and only line the outer half of your eye
  12. Next, apply a lengthening mascara and top it off with a thickening mascara. I applied the thickening to the bottom lashes too.
  13. Add some bronzer--I used NARS laguna!
  14. Put a pop of pink blush on the apples of your cheeks--I used Bobbi Brown Pale Pink
  15. Don't forget your lipstick and gloss--I used MAC Viva Gaga lipstick and Bobbi Brown blossom tint
This is an easy way to add subtle color into an everyday wearable look!

Let me know if you have questions or would like to see another how to! What are you wanting to see? Any product reviews you're looking for?

Have a great purple evening!

Shimmering Brown Eyes--Today's Look

Hi Everyone!
Here's my basic shimmering brown eyes. I use a ton of brown shadows because they look best with my blue eyes.

Products I used-Face:
Bobbi Brown-Creamy Face Wash
Bobbi Brown-Soothing Face Tonic
Philosophy-Hope in a Jar
Bobbi Brown-Hydrating Eye Cream
NARS-Sheer Matte Foundation in Ceylan
Bobbi Brown-Corrector in Light Bisque
Makeup Forever-Lifting Concealer
Makeup Forever-HD Finishing Powder
NARS-Laguna Bronzer
Bobbi Brown-Pot Rouge in Pink Raspberry
Bobbi Brown-Blush in Pale Pink

Products I used-Eyes:
All over: MAC-Paint Pot in Painterly
Inside Corner: Bobbi Brown Shimmer Wash Eye Shadow in Champagne
Outside Corner: Bobbi Brown Shimmer Wash Eye Shadow in Copper Sand
Crease: Bobbi Brown Shimmer Wash Eye Shadow in Copper Cocoa
Middle: Bobbi Brown Shimmer Wash Eye Shadow in Seashell
Liner 1: Bobbi Brown Long Wear Gel Eyeliner in Caviar
Liner 2: Bobbi Brown Eye Shadow in Caviar (smoothes edges of the gel liner)
Mascara 1: Diorshow Extase (lengthens)
Mascara 2: Bobbi Brown Extreme Party (thickens)

Products I used-Lips:
NARS-Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Bettina
MAC-Viva Glam Lipstick in Viva Gaga
Bobbi Brown-Lip Tint SPF 15 in Blossom

My eyes up
close on the right... The eye liner almost makes the lashes look like false ones. The Diorshow mascara is really lengthening and makes my eyelashes reach my eyebrows lol. I will post a review on that mascara later on...

Brushes I used:
Bobbi Brown Bronzer-for the HD powder
Bobbi Brown Ultra Fine Eye Liner-gel liner
MAC 266-powder liner
Bobbi Brown Eye Smudge-crease color
Bobbi Brown Face Blender-bronzer, cream & powder blush

This is a nice summer look, but I usually do brown eyes for an everyday look. For a more daytime look, I would use a pencil liner. I think this is great for summer nights! Be on the lookout for more "Today's Look" posts.

Let me know if there is a look you are wanting to see! : )

SHREK nail polish!!!

Hi Everyone!
Yesterday I went in search of the Shrek-Tacular Minis set by OPI. The stores in my town were sold out, so I went to a bigger town to get them. Oh boy am I loving this set! The mini set includes: Who the Shrek Are You? (green), Rumple's Wigin' (lilac and personal fav), Fiercely Fiona (pale yellow), and What's with the Cattitude? (carolina blue and another fav). I also picked up a full size of the Funky Dunkey. I decided to skip out on the Ogre-The-Top Blue because I just wasn't sure when I would wear a blue like that...

(don't laugh at my painting abilities!)

After testing out the mini set, I am probably going to get the full size versions of the green, carolina blue, and lilac... I'm not big on yellow nails.

Is anyone else in love with this set? What other nail colors do you love?

Currently in love with....

Hi Everyone!
So I wanted to do a post on the things I am currently in love with in regards to beauty products! Here's my current list (enjoy!):

Nails:

MAC:

Bobbi Brown:
Blushes:
  • Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge in Pink Raspberry--I think this *might* be discontinued too, but I love wearing this color! It is bright and nice for the summer flushed look.
  • NARS Multiple in Orgasm--bright and shimmer, also nice for summer. I haven't used this very long, but I do love it so far!
  • NARS blush in Deep Throat--more of a peach color than the Orgasm, but this is the powder kind, so I've been wearing it over the multiple and also loving it thus far.

Lip Stuff:
Scents:

Alright, those are the current loves and products I am using a lot! Let me know if you have questions or want a specific review of a product! : )

updates...

Hi Everyone! so first off, I will try to get better at blogging... it's been busy and I've been lazy...

10 Pan Challenge Update: I suck. End of story. Okay, but really I obviously cannot complete this challenge without buying other things. I will say that it has made me more conscious of my buying and my using of products. I am finishing my concealer set from Bobbi Brown before I use another concealer. (I did buy Benefit's Erase Paste--I tried it. I hated it. It's going back. Maybe the color is wrong, but I just didn't like it. I'm going to try one of MAC's next.) I switched my foundation sticks because the #2 was starting to be too light due to my hours of working out outside. I am now using up my #2.5 :)

New Products: Sephora had this thing the other day if you bought something, you got a free Dior mascara -- Diorshow Extase. I'm a sucker because there were a few products I had been wanting to try that were limited edition and "at sephora only." So here's what I picked up besides the Dior mascara... Enjoy the process of opening my box:

Free Samples: Too Faced-Shadow Insurance, Lorac-Behind the Scenes Eye Primer, & Boscia-Willow Bark Treatment

For some reason, I was given two extra samples..not going to complain. They are: Smashbox-Photo Finish Light Foundation Primer & DDF-Biomolecular Firming Eye Serum

The Contents: Nars So Famous set & Benefit To Go Beauty Bestsellers set
Diorshow Extase Mascara
NARS so famous (my first Nars products)
Set includes: Deep Throat Blush
Bettina - velvet matte lip pencil (this is the one thing I thought I wouldn't like, but it is SO pretty in person)
The Multiple in Orgasm (yeah, the name is over the top, but this is the cult following blush... this is the whole reason I wanted to try the set--it's a cream blush)
Benefit To Go Beauty Bestsellers
Set Includes: Some Kinda Gorgegous, That Gal, High Beam, and Posie Tint. Set is only $10, products are SMALL, but worth 10 bucks... plus, I can't get this anywhere else...

That is my first Sephora online shopping experience... I must say, it went great! I just need more patience for waiting on my package to arrive : ) I will let you all know what I think about these products after I try them.

I did mention above, I am taking the Benefit Erase Paste back, and I will probably take the Dr. Feelgood back as well. I am not sure if I am meant to use Dr. Feelgood... it does feel and smell good, but I think it is breaking my face out. I bought this to wear on top of my makeup to keep it matte all day long. I think I bought it with the wrong intentions, because it really didn't keep me matte like I thought it would... I can't keep it just to set in the tin and smell good.

As for my recent MAC purchases.... LOVE IT!!!! I have done purple eyes a couple times and I always get complements : )

Alright... hopefully this has been a good update for the few readers I do have. Please leave comments and suggestions. Let me know if there is anything you need a review on or a how-to you are looking for! : ) Enjoy the weather!
